Embrace Every Race – Standing Together for Inclusion and Unity!

On October 24th, The King’s Hospital School community came together for “Embrace Every Race,” an inspiring event celebrating diversity and taking a stand against racism. Students and staff alike wore red, symbolizing solidarity and a unified commitment to inclusivity. The event, organized by the school’s dedicated Diversity & Inclusion Committee, emphasized the school’s core values of respect, empathy, and unity.

The day featured a powerful lineup, including a moving performance by the school’s Jazz Band, with Lucy from Form 3 lending her vocal talents to create an atmosphere of reflection and connection. The audience was also honored by the presence of esteemed guest speakers, Cllr. Uruemu Adejinmi and Joy-Tendai Kangere, who shared impactful personal insights on racial diversity, unity, and the importance of acceptance.

Following their talks, students had the opportunity to engage in a meaningful Q&A session with the speakers, guided by the Diversity & Inclusion Committee. The interaction fostered an open dialogue, allowing students to explore issues of diversity and inclusion and ask questions that resonated deeply with their own experiences.

This year’s “Embrace Every Race” event was held in support of #KHZambia2025, showcasing the school’s commitment not only to building a stronger community within but also to supporting meaningful global causes.

As a school, we are committed to celebrating our differences and building a better world, one conversation at a time. Together, let’s continue to embrace diversity and stand united against prejudice.
