The King’s Hospital School’s Transition Year students took centre stage this week at the annual Festival of Learning 2026, an inspiring evening that celebrated a year of discovery, personal development and memorable experiences.
The Festival provided students with the opportunity to reflect on and share the many highlights of their Transition Year journey. Through engaging presentations, displays, performances, and exhibitions, students showcased the breadth of opportunities they embraced throughout the year and the skills they developed along the way.
Guests enjoyed a diverse programme featuring student reflections on work experience placements, educational trips, leadership opportunities, community engagement projects, and a wide range of TY electives. Creative talents were also on display through performances, artistic projects, and collaborative initiatives that demonstrated the enthusiasm and commitment of this year’s TY cohort.
A recurring theme throughout the evening was the confidence students had gained over the course of the year. Many spoke about stepping beyond their comfort zones, taking on new challenges, developing independence and forming lasting friendships. Their presentations highlighted not only what they had achieved, but also how those experiences had shaped them as individuals.
The Festival of Learning remains one of the highlights of the Transition Year calendar, offering students a chance to celebrate their achievements while sharing their experiences with parents, guardians, staff and fellow students. It serves as a powerful reminder of the unique value of Transition Year in encouraging curiosity, creativity, resilience and personal growth.
Congratulations to all of our Transition Year students on a wonderful year and on delivering such an impressive celebration of their learning. We also extend our sincere thanks to the staff, mentors and families whose support helped make the year such a success.
