The King’s Hospital School is proud to celebrate the remarkable musical achievements of a number of current students, staff and past pupils who perform with the acclaimed Dublin-based chamber choir, Fabre Ensemble.
Current members of the ensemble include Ciarán Kelly (Director), Raphino Murphy, Rose Sherry, and Jerome Devitt, while past pupils Harrison Jio, Kate Devitt, Ava McKenna and Elizabeth Michael also continue to play an important role within the choir.
Founded in 2024 and directed by KH’s own Ciarán Kelly, Fabre Ensemble has quickly established itself as one of Ireland’s most exciting emerging choral groups. The choir has already enjoyed significant success, including performances on RTÉ Radio, appearances with the Cork Fleischmann Symphony Orchestra, and winning a national competition at the City of Derry International Choir Festival.
Adding to an already impressive list of achievements, Fabre Ensemble recently enjoyed a highly successful day at the Navan Choral Festival, where they were awarded the prestigious National Choir of the Year 2026 title. The choir also secured second place in the Popular Music, Irish Language, and Mixed Voice Choir competitions, demonstrating the ensemble’s versatility and excellence across a range of musical styles.
The choir extended its congratulations to all participating ensembles and expressed its appreciation for the opportunity to hear such a wide variety of outstanding performances throughout the festival.
The continued involvement of so many KH students and alumni reflects the school’s strong musical tradition and the vibrant culture of performance and creativity fostered within the school community.
Everyone at The King’s Hospital School congratulates Fabre Ensemble on these remarkable achievements and wishes them continued success in the future.
