Celebrating Musical Achievement 2026

It has been another outstanding year for music at The King’s Hospital School, with students achieving success both within the school community and on the national stage.

A particular highlight has been the continued growth of the school’s Jazz Band, which performed on 11 occasions at Friday Chapel throughout the academic year. Involving 47 students, the ensemble has become an increasingly important part of school life, providing regular performance opportunities and showcasing the breadth of musical talent across the school.

Our students have also distinguished themselves through their involvement in some of Ireland’s most prestigious youth music organisations.

Congratulations to Sadie and Eoin, who were selected as members of the Irish Youth Choir, a significant achievement that recognises their vocal talent and dedication.

We are also delighted to celebrate the achievements of Isabelle, Sophie, Susie, Lucy, and Shifra, who performed with Youth Opera Ireland, one of the country’s leading organisations for young singers.

Further success came at Feis Ceoil, Ireland’s premier classical music competition, where Leonie, Charlotte, Sophie, Ewan, Sadie, and Eoin represented The King’s Hospital with distinction.

These achievements, together with the excellent participation in this year’s RIAM examinations, reflect the dedication, talent and hard work of our students, as well as the commitment of the staff who support and inspire them.

We congratulate all of our musicians on their accomplishments and thank them for the enormous contribution they make to the cultural life of the school. Their success continues to demonstrate the strength, ambition and excellence of music at The King’s Hospital School.
