Boarders Activities this Hilary Term

Our boarding students enjoyed a varied and engaging programme of activities throughout the Hilary Term, balancing study commitments with opportunities to relax, socialise and have fun together.

While some weekends were slightly quieter at times, such as around the Cambridge mock examinations, there were still plenty of memorable moments. Students celebrated Chinese New Year with a special trip to Drury Street, enjoying the vibrant atmosphere and cultural celebrations in the city.

A major highlight of the term was the Boarding Talent Show, with auditions taking place across several weekends. Students from Morgan and Grace House, Bluecoat House and Mercer’s House showcased their talents, with the standard of performances exceptionally high. Four acts from each house were selected to progress to the semi-finals, culminating in a fantastic finals weekend that celebrated creativity and confidence within the boarding community.

Boarders also made the most of the improving weather with a trip to Newbridge Park, where students enjoyed time outdoors exploring the playground and farm in a relaxed and social setting.

The term concluded with a strong St. Patrick’s weekend theme, as students travelled to Dublin City Centre to experience the lively St. Patrick’s Festival. On campus, students took part in traditional GAA activities, including football and hurling. On St. Patrick’s Day itself, Forms 1–4 attended the Celbridge St Patrick’s Day Parade, while Form 6 students enjoyed a visit to the Céilí Mór.

Overall, it has been a fantastic term for our boarders, filled with a wonderful balance of cultural experiences, creative opportunities and community spirit. We are looking forward to all the activities we have planned for the upcoming Trinity Term.
