Students Showcase TY Journey

As part of their preparation for Senior Cycle, Form 4 students participated in their annual Transition Year Portfolio Interviews, presenting reflections on their experiences and achievements throughout the year.

The interviews provided students with an opportunity to consider the skills they had developed, the challenges they had overcome, and the ways in which Transition Year had helped prepare them for the next stage of their educational journey. Through their portfolios, students reflected on new experiences, personal growth, leadership opportunities, and the many activities that had shaped their year.

Supporting the interview process was a distinguished panel comprising members of the King’s Hospital community and beyond. We were delighted to welcome Arthur Travers (former Geography teacher), Susan Tanner (Class of 1985, former Careers Advisor and current KHPPU Committee member), Vicky Abimbola (Class of 2020 and legal professional with Matheson LLP), Catherine Birks and Avril Rankin, both current parents of King’s Hospital students.

The interview panel engaged students in thoughtful discussions about their experiences, encouraging them to reflect on their learning and articulate how Transition Year had contributed to their personal and academic development.

The Portfolio Interviews are an important milestone in the Transition Year programme, helping students recognise their achievements and prepare for the increased responsibility and academic focus of Senior Cycle.

We extend our sincere thanks to Arthur, Susan, Vicky, Catherine and Avril for generously giving their time and expertise to support our students. Their encouragement and feedback made the experience both valuable and memorable for all involved.
