Honouring the Mahony Legacy

We were deeply honoured to gather as a school community to celebrate the legacy of Joan and Noel Mahony and to gratefully receive the generous gifts returned to the school in their memory.

Although Joan was unable to attend, it was a pleasure to welcome members of her family and friends, including Hilary and her husband Colin, Lesley, and Valerie. Their presence made the occasion especially meaningful and reminded us of the strong bonds that continue to connect past and present members of our community.

The gathering took place in the Mahony Room, a space named in honour of Noel Mahony, which holds a special place within The King’s Hospital School. The room features a striking artistic rendering of Blackhall Place, the school’s original home, serving as a powerful visual reminder of our beginnings and of the importance of safeguarding our history, heritage, and identity for future generations.

With sincere thanks to Adrienne and Glascott Symes, Andrew Deacon, and all who contributed to such a warm and memorable celebration of connection, generosity, and lasting legacy.
