We are delighted to announce that The King’s Hospital School has received the Gold Award in the Secondary School Transformational Category at the DCU Intergenerational Solidarity Awards 2026.
The KH Community Tech Drive project was recognised for its innovative approach, strong community engagement and meaningful impact in supporting older adults through technology and digital skills. In a year that saw a very high standard of entries from organisations across Ireland, the project stood out for its commitment to fostering genuine intergenerational connections.
Through the initiative, students helped bridge the digital divide by supporting older members of the community in Marymount Care Centre with practical technology skills while also building relationships based on empathy, respect and collaboration. The project reflects The King’s Hospital School’s ongoing commitment to community outreach and social responsibility.
Representatives from the school, along with participating students and community members, attended the awards ceremony at Dublin City University, where the school was presented with the Gold Award trophy. All students involved also received Certificates of Participation in recognition of their valuable contribution.
We extend our sincere congratulations to all students, staff and community partners involved in the KH Community Tech Drive. This award is a wonderful recognition of the compassion, leadership and community spirit that continues to define life at The King’s Hospital School.
