The King’s Hospital School proudly celebrated another outstanding year of sporting achievement at the annual Sports Awards Ceremony held on 7th May 2026. The evening recognised the dedication, talent and sportsmanship of students across a wide range of sports and competitions throughout the year.
A special congratulations was extended to our newest Hall of Fame inductees, Charlie Henderson (1991–1997) and Sharon Crean (1994–2000), whose achievements and contributions to sport continue to inspire the KH community.
The ceremony also honoured students who earned representative honours at provincial, national and international level. Among those recognised were Felix Campion, Grace Ua Bruadair and Orlaith Tucker as senior hockey captains, Freddy Rust and Zara Wokocha as rugby and basketball captains, and students representing Ireland across hockey, rowing, football, equestrian and para sport.
This year saw exceptional success across many teams and disciplines. Highlights included:
- Senior A Boys’ Hockey Trophy Winners
- Senior A Girls’ Rugby Fingal Cup Winners
- Junior A Girls’ Basketball Dublin East Winners
- U13 A Girls’ Hockey 1B League Winners
- Minor and Junior A Boys’ Hockey 1B League Winners
Students were also recognised for achievements in cricket, rowing, swimming, athletics, badminton, tennis and equestrian sports, reflecting the breadth and strength of sport at KH.
Individual award winners included Ellis Powell and Nia Green as Best Junior Sports Persons, while Abigail Farrell and Freddy Rust received the prestigious Whiteside Trophy and Hall-Cooper Cup for sportsmanship.
The awards evening was a celebration not only of success and competition, but also of the commitment, teamwork and school spirit shown by students throughout the year. Congratulations to all students, coaches and staff on an exceptional sporting year at The King’s Hospital School.
