Challenging Minds: Irish Mathematical Olympiad

On Friday 18 September, 40 enthusiastic students took part in the Irish Mathematical Olympiad, tackling challenging problems that required creativity, logical reasoning and persistence beyond the standard mathematics curriculum.

The competition provided students with an opportunity to stretch their mathematical thinking, develop their problem-solving skills and embrace challenges outside the standard classroom environment.

We are particularly proud of our highest-achieving students:

  • Ruihan – Form 3
  • Yuhao – Form 5
  • Chenhao – Form 5
  • Larson – Form 5

Following their outstanding performances, the students have been invited to attend Mathematics Enrichment Classes this autumn, hosted by leading universities. These sessions will provide an opportunity to explore mathematics beyond the school curriculum and work alongside professional mathematicians and other students who share their enthusiasm for the subject.

Congratulations to all 40 students who took part, and well done to everyone for their enthusiasm, perseverance and willingness to embrace this rewarding mathematical challenge.
