In October, 60 Bronze and Silver level Gaisce students successfully completed their Gaisce Hike and Camp in Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny, overcoming challenging conditions, including persistent heavy rain throughout the expedition.
The students demonstrated exceptional perseverance, teamwork, and commitment, with their efforts extending well beyond the physical demands of the outdoor challenge. Their achievement reflects the core values of Gaisce – The President’s Award, a national self-development programme for young people aged 14–25 that promotes confidence, well-being, resilience, and personal growth.
The successful completion of the hike and overnight camp in difficult weather conditions stands as a testament to the students’ determination and resilience. Congratulations to all involved on this outstanding achievement.
