The King’s Hospital School is delighted to celebrate the fantastic achievement of Form 1 student Meabh Mackarel, who recently enjoyed great success in competitive golf at regional level.
Meabh was selected to represent the Royal Tara Golf Club on their Under-19 ladies’ team in the Dublin/North Leinster interclub competition, held on Friday 10th April at Howth Golf Club. Competing against some of the top young golfers in the region, Meabh and her teammates delivered an outstanding performance to secure overall victory and claim the title.
Following this success, the team will now progress to the All-Ireland interclub competition taking place later this summer—an exciting opportunity to compete on a national stage.
Adding to an already impressive achievement, Meabh also placed second in the individual competition. At just 13 years of age, she was one of the youngest players ever to take part in the event, making her accomplishment all the more remarkable.
This is a wonderful milestone for Meabh and a testament to her talent, dedication and hard work. Her success is a source of great pride for the school community and we look forward to following her continued progress in the sport.
