The Central Statistics Office (CSO) has announced the results of its highly regarded John Hooper Statistical Poster Competition for 2026, and The King’s Hospital School is proud to celebrate an outstanding student achievement.
Huge congratulations go to students Enoch Tsang and Matthew Johnson, who were awarded an Order of Merit for their poster titled “Novel Method to Combat Lead Pollution.” This distinction is particularly significant, as the Order of Merit is granted to only the top 15 entries nationally, marking their project as one of the most impressive submissions in this year’s competition.
The John Hooper Statistical Poster Competition, organised annually by the CSO, challenges students to explore real-world issues through data analysis, critical thinking and creative presentation. Enoch and Matthew’s work stood out for its innovative approach to addressing environmental concerns, combining scientific insight with strong statistical reasoning.
This achievement reflects not only the students’ dedication and talent but also the school’s ongoing commitment to fostering analytical thinking, creativity and engagement with global challenges.
We are immensely proud of Enoch and Matthew for this exceptional accomplishment and look forward to seeing their continued success in the future.
