Students at The King’s Hospital School Join Run in the Dark in Support of Mark Pollock Trust

This October, The King’s Hospital School proudly participated in the Run in the Dark, a global event supporting the Mark Pollock Trust. Though students and staff were unable to attend the main race, they showed their solidarity by organizing their own version of the run on the school campus.

The event followed an inspiring talk from Mark Pollock, an international motivational speaker, explorer, and author, who visited the school earlier this month. During his session, Mark shared his incredible life journey—from becoming the first blind man to race to the South Pole, to his fight to cure spinal cord injuries after a life-changing accident in 2010. His message of resilience and determination resonated deeply with everyone present.

Motivated by Mark’s story, our Form 6 students and staff embraced the Run in the Dark challenge, completing laps around the school grounds in a symbolic gesture of support for his mission to find a cure for spinal cord injuries. Mark Pollock’s work through the Mark Pollock Trust focuses on exploring new technologies, including robotic exoskeletons, to help people with paralysis.

We are proud to have been part of this worldwide initiative and look forward to continuing our involvement with Mark Pollock’s extraordinary mission.
