The King’s Hospital School was delighted to welcome Emma Walker (Class of 2009) back to campus to speak with Form 6 students about the importance of professional networking and building a positive digital presence.
Emma is the founder of Walker & Co and a qualified leadership and performance coach. Through her work, she supports emerging leaders and helps young professionals navigate the transition into management and leadership roles.
During her engaging session, Emma introduced students to LinkedIn and explored the growing importance of digital reputation throughout a person’s educational and professional journey. Students gained valuable insights into how employers, universities and professional organisations increasingly use online platforms, and how a strong digital presence can open doors to future opportunities.
A highlight of the session was a live demonstration of LinkedIn, which provided students with a practical understanding of how to create a professional profile, build connections and develop their personal brand online. Emma also discussed the value of networking and how students can begin establishing meaningful professional relationships as they prepare for life beyond school.
The session was particularly relevant as students prepare to join The King’s Hospital School Alumni Network, helping them understand how maintaining connections and engaging with professional communities can support their future studies and careers.
