F2 Students at SciFest TUD Tallaght

Students from F2 proudly represented the school at SciFest at TUD Tallaght, joining students from across the country in one of Ireland’s leading STEM competitions.

Representing the school were Fiadhna, Vini, and Pari, who presented their projects to judges, students, and industry professionals throughout the day. The event gave students the opportunity to showcase their creativity, scientific thinking, and problem-solving skills in a professional and supportive environment.

Fiadhna and Vini presented a project investigating how increased slope affects the speed of a toy car, exploring the relationship between incline and motion through experimentation and data collection. Pari showcased an innovative invention: a novel vegetable slicer designed to support people with reduced hand strength or mobility, demonstrating both creativity and practical problem-solving.

While all three students thoroughly enjoyed the experience, there were unfortunately no prizes or awards on this occasion. As always, the standard of competition at SciFest was exceptionally high.

SciFest is Ireland’s largest second-level STEM fair programme, encouraging students to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through research and innovation. Participation in events such as SciFest helps students build confidence, communication skills, and experience in presenting their ideas to a wider audience.

The school is extremely proud of Fiadhna, Vini, and Pari for their enthusiasm, commitment, and excellent representation of F2 at this prestigious STEM event.
