Explore Ireland’s Literary and Cultural Treasures

Form 5 Students Explore Ireland’s Literary and Cultural Treasures

Last week, our Form 5 students braved the wet and windy weather to embark on an enriching journey through Ireland’s literary and cultural heritage. As part of their English studies, the students visited three remarkable exhibitions that brought the works of some of Ireland’s greatest literary and historical figures to life.

The day began with a visit to the Seamus Heaney Exhibition at the Bank of Ireland, where students delved into the life and works of the celebrated poet. They then explored the W.B. Yeats Exhibition at the National Library, gaining insight into the legacy of one of Ireland’s most influential writers. The trip concluded with a tour of the National Museum of Ireland, where they discovered treasures that connect Ireland’s literary and historical narratives.

After a day of inspiration and learning, students enjoyed a well-deserved treat of hot chocolate, rounding off the experience on a warm and cheerful note.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Ms. Ua Bruadair and the English Department for organizing this memorable trip, which offered a unique opportunity for students to engage with Ireland’s rich cultural and literary heritage in a meaningful way.
