This week, our school community came together to celebrate International Women’s Day, reflecting on the positive impact of women across a wide range of sectors, both at home and abroad. Through discussion, reflection and creative expression, students were encouraged to recognise and celebrate the achievements, voices and contributions of women in society.
The week’s theme culminated in a special Chapel assembly where our Jazz Band delivered a powerful performance of Beyoncé’s Crazy in Love, bringing energy and inspiration to the celebration. The assembly also featured readings from the winners of our Balancing the Scales poetry competition, whose work captured themes of equality, strength and empowerment.
Congratulations to Laura Yang (Form 6), winner of the Senior category, and Alesia Oiaga Gontaru (Form 1), winner of the Junior category. Both students delivered outstanding poems, which were warmly received by the entire school community.
International Women’s Day provided an opportunity to celebrate progress, amplify voices and inspire meaningful conversations, reinforcing our commitment to equality, respect and inclusion.
