Leaving Cert 2023

We had an outstanding set of Leaving Cert Results this year and I would like to extend my warm congratulations to the year group. They missed out on sitting their Junior Cert and didn’t get to experience a full TY year due to the pandemic, but they didn’t allow this disruption to define them. Their results and college choices are a great reflection of their hard work and resilience.

Almost half the year group achieved 500 points or more with 7 students achieving 600+ points including the top scorers Julia von Kietzell and Brannan Jio with 625 points.

  • 127 students sat the 2023 Leaving Cert
  • The median points were 485 up from 442 in 2020 (accredited grades)
  • 7 students achieved 600+ points (3 last year) with 2 getting the max 625
  • Almost 50% of students achieved over 500 points – KH 44% vs 26% National Average.
  • KH students achieved double the national average points in the 550+ category – KH 26%/NA 13%.
  • 104 students scored over 400 points.

DCU has been a popular university choice this year, particularly for Business, Finance and Maths-related courses, with Trinity College favouring the STEM subjects; Biomedical, Nursing, Engineering, Maths/Physics. Teaching continues to be a popular choice and we look forward to welcoming some past pupils back as PMEs in the future.

Congratulations to Roen Fleming who received an academic scholarship at DCU, where he is studying Actuarial and Financial Mathematics.

We were delighted to welcome the Class of 2023 back to the school for the pre-debs reception on August , so we could celebrate with them and share in the excitement of what their future holds after KH. Thanks to the KHPA for hosting a wonderful evening. A photo gallery is available to view here.

We also got to reunite with many of the Class of 2023 at our annual Academic Prizegiving in December, where they were presented with many awards and certificates for their achievements and endeavours in Form 6. Please see a list of the awards recipients in the brochure pdf below and you can view some of the photos from the evening here

We wish the Class of 2023 every happiness on the next stage of their life’s journey, and hope to stay in touch in the coming years.
