There was fantastic success for KH at the Irish Senior Schools Relay Championships in the National Aquatic Centre (NAC).
A huge congratulations to our Mixed 13–14 relay teams, who both achieved outstanding 3rd place finishes at national level, competing against some of the best school swimmers in the country.
In the 200m Freestyle Relay, Rory Maguire, Alesia Oiaga Gontaru, Kei Collins and Meg Clarke delivered an excellent performance to secure bronze.
In the 200m Medley Relay, Orla Geoghegan, Nicholas Gajovic, Martha Prada Canas and Sam Sparrow also earned a well-deserved 3rd place finish.
While the medals were a fantastic achievement, the day was about much more than results. Facing very strong competition, including many experienced club swimmers, our entire 30-person squad performed brilliantly. Almost every swimmer improved their times, with many achieving personal bests.
The KH team spirit was clear throughout the day, with students representing the school with pride, determination and great sportsmanship.
A special thank you goes to all the parents who supported the team. Your encouragement from the stands made a big difference. We would also like to thank Christine Howard, for all her work across our swim programme again this year.
We also want to recognise our five sixth-year student volunteers, who were praised by Swim Ireland officials for their professionalism. They gained valuable experience behind the scenes, including learning official timekeeping.
Well done to everyone involved in a fantastic day for KH swimming!
