Last Friday, our staff and students came together in a meaningful initiative to raise awareness for dementia by wearing denim and supporting the Alzheimer’s Society. However, this year, we decided to take it a step further—straight into the sea!
Over 20 brave staff members participated in the Forty Foot Challenge, taking a chilling dip in the icy waters to show solidarity with those facing the daily challenges of dementia. While fundraising was a key aspect, the true impact came from the powerful conversations and personal stories shared throughout the day.
With 1 in 3 students knowing someone affected by dementia, this cause resonates deeply within our community. A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Leahy for leading this initiative, and to everyone who participated and contributed to the cause.
Meanwhile, our TY students were also making a difference—out in the city centre raising funds for The Oesophageal Cancer Fund (‘Lollipop Day’). Their dedication to supporting meaningful causes truly embodies the spirit of our school.
