Wishing Maura Moore-McCune the Best of Luck at ISEF 2025!

As the countdown begins to the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) 2025 in Columbus, Ohio, we want to take a moment to send our very best wishes to Maura Moore-McCune, who will be proudly representing Ireland and The King’s Hospital School on the world stage.

Maura, a 5th Year student, was crowned SciFest STEM Champion 2024 last November for her innovative project, VIPMOD: Vision Impaired Person’s Moving Object Detector. Next month, she will join the brightest young scientific minds from across the globe in showcasing her work at ISEF—the world’s largest international pre-college science competition.

Her journey not only reflects her brilliance and dedication but also connects to a proud chapter in KH’s history. Back in 2019, two KH students, Richard Beattie and Dylan Bagnall, also took to the ISEF stage, where they earned international recognition for their project.

Fast forward to today—Richard is completing his final year at MIT, studying Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, and Dylan is a technology consultant at IBM. Their story is a shining example of where passion for innovation can lead—and we know Maura’s path is just beginning.

Maura, your KH family is cheering you on as you head to Ohio. Best of luck—we can’t wait to hear all about it!
