The Story of a Bridge by Karlo Koblenz

Rage and Regret – The Story of a Bridge by Karlo Koblenz – TY student from Germany đŸ‡©đŸ‡Ș.

As part of Druid’s Community and education programme students from around the country watched Sonya Kelly’s ‘Once Upon a Bridge’ and wrote monologues in response to a creative writing prompt.

‘Once Upon a Bridge’ was inspired by a real incident.  In 2017, CCTV captured a jogger pushing a woman into the path of an oncoming bus on Putney Bridge in London.

The identity of the jogger and the woman remains a mystery.

Druid asked secondary school students across the country to imagine what might have happened on the bridge and who the people involved might have been.

Students wrote monologues from the perspective of the jogger, the woman, the bus driver, onlookers, and friends and family members of those involved and received many great responses.

Karlo’s monologue was chosen to feature in the Once Upon a Bridge video.

Congratulations Karlo and well done to all the students who took part.
