Mark Wallace appointed New Head

The King’s Hospital School is delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Wallace as our new Headmaster, effective January 2025. Mark joins us with over two decades of leadership experience in education, having served as Headmaster at Lincoln Minster School, a co-educational boarding school, and Bishop Challoner School in Kent.

Born and raised in Northern Ireland, Mark’s career began in the banking sector before transitioning to education, where he has held significant roles in school leadership, including Head of Boarding and Head of Sixth Form at Caterham School. He has also been an Independent Schools Team Inspector since 2016, contributing to higher education and governance through various leadership roles. Mark holds an MBA in Business Administration and has a deep passion for student well-being and fostering a supportive school community.

Mark and his family are excited to return to Ireland and join The King’s Hospital School community. His vision for the future of our school focuses on a pupil-centric management style, ensuring the well-being and success of every student. He believes in getting to know students personally and engaging with parents to create a strong, collaborative school environment.

Although Mark will officially begin his role in January 2025, he will visit the school several times this term to meet with staff, students, and parents. We look forward to welcoming him and his family and are confident that his leadership will guide The King’s Hospital School toward continued success.
