The annual Sports Awards ceremony took place recently, students were recognised for their outstanding achievements.
Special guests included Hall Of Fame inductees Rachel Fenwick and Derek Jago.
Rachel Fenwick, a former student of The King’s Hospital, was inducted into the school’s Hall Of Fame for her outstanding achievements in Archery. Among her achievements, she competed in the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, 1979 World Archery Championships in Berlin, and broke 6 British Archery records. In 2001 she co-founded the Wellington Bowmen archery club.
Derek Jago, also a former student and Olympian, was inducted into the school’s Hall Of Fame for his outstanding achievements in sailing. He competed in the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, sailing in the Tempest event.
