The King’s Hospital School’s Transition Year students took centre stage this week at the annual Festival of Learning, a special evening that marked the culmination of a transformative year of exploration, growth, and hands-on learning.
From the moment guests arrived, it was clear this was no ordinary graduation. The evening was student-led from start to finish, with presentations, performances, and displays showcasing the wide range of experiences that shaped the year. Each elective and project was a window into the curiosity, creativity, and resilience of the TY class.
The audience got a glimpse of everything from SciFest science projects to performances from the TY Choir, while others reflected on their international experiences and newfound skills from legal studies, lifesaving, and rowing. The TY Play offered a theatrical highlight, and colourful displays celebrated contributions to campus ecology, including the creation of a vibrant mural that will remain as a lasting legacy.
Throughout the evening, students shared not only what they did, but how they grew—gaining confidence, building friendships, and discovering passions along the way. It was a reminder that TY is more than a break from the academic grind; it’s a year that encourages students to step out of their comfort zone and engage with the world around them.
Congratulations to all the students, and sincere thanks to the staff who supported and inspired them throughout the journey. The Festival of Learning truly captured the spirit of TY—and the memories and lessons will last well beyond this celebration.
