The King’s Hospital School Choir Performs at Annual Law Service
On Monday, October 7th, The King’s Hospital School Choir upheld a proud tradition by leading the music at the prestigious Annual Law Service at St. Michan’s Church, Dublin. This event, which has been a cornerstone of Dublin’s legal community for over a century, marks the opening of the Michaelmas Law Term.
Under the skilled direction of Ciaran Kelly, our Chapel Choir joined clergy and members of the legal profession in a ceremony that celebrated the enduring connection between faith and law. The service was led by Archdeacon David Pierpoint, Vicar of St. Michan’s, and attended by Dean William Morton of St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
The sermon, delivered by Revd. Simon Doogan, Rector of Ballyholme Parish in Down and Dromore, highlighted the profound influence of Christ’s ethics on the legal world. He spoke about how concepts such as guilt, the presumption of innocence, and forms of punishment have been shaped by the teachings of Jesus Christ.
The performance by our students was nothing short of extraordinary, reflecting their dedication and talent. We are immensely proud of their contribution to this significant occasion, which not only showcased their musical excellence but also upheld an important tradition of The King’s Hospital School.
