Young Photographer of the Year Awards 2024

Proud Moment for Our School! 🌟

We are incredibly proud to celebrate one of our outstanding students, Mathieu in Form 2, who has been named a finalist in the prestigious Young Photographer of the Year Awards 2024 after winning the 10-15 age category! 📸✨ As a dedicated member of our Photography Club, run by Mr McIlreavy, Mathieu has shown exceptional talent and commitment to his craft.

At The King’s Hospital School, we believe in nurturing creativity and self-expression through extracurricular activities, and this achievement is a shining example of what our students can accomplish when given the opportunity to explore their passions.

Mathieu’s work is currently featured in the ‘Living Canvas’ outdoor art programme at Carrickmines Park, Dublin, showcasing the power of young talent. The photo that earned Mathieu this recognition is a breathtaking image of our own school, captured during a special snowfall. This moment beautifully reflects the unique charm of our campus and the talent of our students.

We encourage all students with a passion for photography to join our Photography Club, where they can develop their skills, explore their creativity, and perhaps even capture the next award-winning moment. Whether you’re a beginner or already have some experience, the club is the perfect place to express yourself and make your mark.

The overall winner of the Young Photographer of the Year Awards and the Rising Star Awards competition will be announced at a ceremony on October 26th at 2pm and we wish Mathieu the very best of luck.
