CONGRATULATIONS to Anna Doyle, Ava Winston, Eimear Kane, Ruby Lyons, and Temiloluwa Bello, pictured here with Dr. Colm O’Reilly CTYI, receiving their certificates on completion of the CTYI Early University Programme in TY. Also to Tommy Kennedy and Daniel Borton who were unable to make the ceremony.
The students took weekly classes on the DCU campus taken from modules of its first year university curriculum in the following courses: Law & Politics, Philosophy, Psychology and Biology. They then sat exams in those modules, at the end of the semester, giving them a real sense of what it is like to study those courses at university level.
The Centre for Talented Youth, Ireland provides enrichment courses for students with high academic ability, which is tested at primary school and again at secondary school level.
These enrichment-style classes cover extracurricular areas that would not be available to students until third level.
