Arts & Culture Awards 2025-2026

The King’s Hospital School community came together this week for the much-anticipated Arts & Culture Awards 2025, an evening dedicated to honouring student achievement, creativity, leadership and commitment across the arts and co-curricular life of the school.

The event opened with a warm welcome from the Headmaster, who reflected on the strength of the school’s artistic culture and the dedication of the students and staff who bring it to life.

A Night of Outstanding Performances

Guests were treated to a rich programme of performances showcasing the wide range of artistic talent within the school. The evening included:

  • Choral pieces, including a contemporary festival work and a traditional folk arrangement
  • Solo vocal and instrumental performances ranging from musical theatre to classical repertoire
  • Dramatic monologues, spoken-word pieces, and selections from Shakespeare
  • A medley from Les Misérables performed by two senior students
  • A lively set from the school’s Jazz Band

Each performance highlighted the creativity, confidence, and skill nurtured through our thriving arts programmes.

Recognising Leadership and Service

In addition to celebrating artistic achievement, the ceremony also acknowledged the commitment of students who serve the school community in leadership roles. Awards were presented to representatives from:

  • Mentoring Teams
  • Prefect Body
  • Student Captains and Vice-Captains
  • Student Council
  • Environmental Committee
  • Diversity & Inclusion Committee
  • Amber Flag Group

These students were commended for their positive contribution to school life, their integrity, and their willingness to support their peers.

Special Awards in Music, Drama & Performance

Several prestigious prizes were awarded to students who made exceptional contributions to music, drama, and performing arts throughout the year. Among these were:

  • Chapel Choir Prizes
  • Larkin Music Prize
  • Drama and Stagecraft Awards
  • Instrumental and Orchestral Awards
  • The Transition Year Drama Trophy
  • The Societies & Clubs Award
  • The Head’s Cup for Contribution to the Performing Arts

These honours recognise not only talent, but dedication, leadership, and a sustained commitment to the cultural life of the school.

The Arts & Culture Awards 2025 offered a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the passion, resilience, and imagination that define the arts at The King’s Hospital School. From performance to leadership, students continue to enrich our community in meaningful and inspiring ways.
