My piece was inspired by the theme garden, it represents the juxtaposition between nature and man made pollution. At the center of the piece there are a set of lungs symbolizing how our gardens are the lungs of our cities but the darkness of these lungs contrasts the brightness of the flowers representing the damage of environmental pollution. The plastic bronchus symbolizes non-degradable materials that pollute the environment. The wings represent life in the garden, they have been left uncolored to highlight the fragility of nature. The eyes are white and innocent, this is meant to represent the vulnerability of life-giving gardens.
