A group of Form 5 English students have started a Creative Writing module with the poet Colm Keegan.  This EPIC programme is run by South Dublin Libraries and Colm creates a website publishing the students' work.  One of the stories written by the students will be animated.

We were delighted to host a visit from Patrice Lawrence on her recent book tour with her latest title, Rose Interrupted.  Patrice lives in London and travelled with her publisher, Dominic from Hodder books.  Orangeboy, her first YA title, won many awards and is a popular read - gritty and contemporary.

A large group of TY students went to the Civic Theatre for the Red Line Book Festival.  The author panel consisted of Moira Fowley-Doyle, Deirdre Sullivan and Sarah Maria Griffin.  They talked of witches and magic in their books and fascinated their audience with stories of women in Ireland today and in the past.  They shared many tips on getting around tricky writing difficulties when writing stories.
