For World Book Day the library and English Dept ran a variety of competitions. Despite Snow Days boarders continued with Drop Everything And Read every day. Also, we ran a Fan Fiction competition. The standard was very high and students had a lot of fun changing the endings of books or resurrecting a favourite character. The Junior entries were judged by Gasice Library volunteers. Senior entries were judged by a panel of staff members. The winners were:-
- Form 1:- Malachy McKenna & Sinead Farrell
- Form 2:- Celia Jiminez & Carlotta Fedrizzi
- Form 4:- Hannah Wiseman & Anna Shyliuk.
- Form 5:- David Soyele

"National Book Token" Design competition. This is judged in the UK and winners are announced during the summer. We have been lucky to have won twice already - no pressure!
Sharpen your Spelling Bees! The Inter-Schools bee competition has been deferred until 11th May (due to snow days). Our In-House heats will be held after Easter so keep an eye/ear out for announcements.
