New for 2020/21 - The King's Hospital Tiny School Desk
Launched in September 2020 to ensure our students can continue to participate in our tradition of "Friday Performances", the KH Tiny School Desk encourages students with a passion for the Performing Arts to showcase their talents . All students are welcome to participate with a new performance going live every Friday on 'The King's Hospital School Official' Youtube channel. Performances to date have included music, drama and poetry from students within all year groups.

Performing Arts
In addtion to Speech & Drama and Music tuition, we provide a wonderful programme of Performing Arts activities for students to engage with before, during and after school. We seek to enhance the positive emotional and educational effects of taking part in artistic and cultural pursuits for all of our students by positive engagement both within the school and the wider community. Activities included in school fee:

Music
Our music department is one of the best in the country. We offer our students expert tuition in 11 instruments from classical and jazz to rock and hip-hop. We prepare our students for the Royal Irish Academy music exams in instruments, singing, music theatre and music theory as well as the Rock School Music Exams. The King's Hospital Music Department brings young people of all ages together to play in our orchestra, jazz band and choirs and encourages them to form their own bands, compose and record their music in our recording studio.
The students perform in concerts, competitions and choral recitals throughout the yea,r along with entertaining the school community in Chapel and our 300-seat Wilson-Wright Centre for Performing Arts.

- Joint Lessons (if available): €560 per year
- Group Lessons (if available): €380 per year
- Tuition can be paid in two half-year installments

Speech & Drama Department
Our students learn to express themselves with confidence through play, group work, text analysis and theatrical stagecraft. We perform in competitions around the country and showcase our talents in our on-campus theatre by performing in plays, musicals and concerts. Students are encouraged to test their knowledge and acting skills in the RIAM Speech and Drama grade exams.
