Performing Arts

'We believe that music and the arts are central to the emotional development and wellbeing of our young people. We lead the way by offering some of Ireland’s most outstanding music and drama facilities. And we offer an extraordinary range of creative activities so that everyone has a chance to discover the joy of performance, participation and play.'  Head of Arts & Culture - Kerrie O'Reilly

Our music department is one of the best in the country. We offer our students expert tuition in 11 instruments across every genre – from classical and jazz to rock and hip-hop. We prepare our students for the Royal Irish Academy music exams in instruments, singing, music theatre and music theory as well as the Rock School Music Exams.
We bring young people of all ages together to play in our orchestra, jazz band and choirs and encourage them to form their own bands and to compose and record their music in our recording studio.
They take part in concerts, competitions and choral performances throughout the year along with entertaining the school community in chapel and 300-seat Wilson-Wright Centre for Performing Arts.
