Valedictory week is a time-honoured tradition at The King's Hospital. It is the last week of school for the Form 6 students before they return to sit the Leaving Certificate. There is always a theme that the students will dress up to and this year was 90's TV/Movies. The week culminates in a special Chapel Service for students, parents and staff, which is always a treat for the ears, musically, as the students perform for the last time together in the Choir. After Chapel the families and staff are escorted to the dining room for a dinner hosted by the Parents Association. The winner of the Parents Association Valedictory Award is announced and presented after dinner and then the students take to the stage to entertain their parents and teachers. There are very few dry eyes at the end of the evening but it is always a wonderful, if emotional, occasion.
