Form 1 Open Day
Open Day usually takes place in early May, from 9am to 2pm. (For 2021 entrants, Open Day will take place Friday, 1st May, 2020.) During the event, parents and children are given guided tours of the school – from classrooms to boarding facilities – and each department head gives an information session.
You have ample opportunity to interact with students, who lead the guided tours along with a member of the teaching staff.
You will be treated to musical, speech & drama and choral performances from students, view some of their art projects, engage in experiments in the science labs and sample some of the delicious treats baked by our home economics students.
You are invited to stay for lunch from 1-2pm, where you can informally chat with our staff and students.
If you are unable to attend Open Day, contact us to arrange a school visit at another time. If your contact details have changed since you first registered your child, please let us know immediately.
Parents and children (fifth class students), who have registered for a place, will be invited to attend our Open Day. If you have not yet registered but wish to attend, please contact us for a Registration Form.

We offer your child (current fifth and sixth class pupils) the opportunity for a full boarding school day and night experience with a fully supervised taster sleepover, usually on a Friday in March. (This year it took place on Fri 2.30pm-Sat 12pm, 29th & 30th March) for registered boarding applicants. The experience includes:
Meet and greet with our Head, Boarding and Nursing staff on Friday at 2pm
Buddy up with a Form 1 student and join them in the last academic class of the day
Try out a school sport or enrichment programme from 4-5pm
Tea & evening social activities
Breakfast and Saturday Morning Activities Programme
- Pick up 12pm
The sleepover does not replace the Open Day, but it gives your child a taste of what it is like to be away from home at boarding school for one night.
It is limited to two groups of four boys and four girls. A house person, who is assigned to each group, will also be resident at night adjacent to the students’ room.
Please contact us in the Admissions Office if this is something you would be interested in for your child.
If you have submitted a registration form to the school for a form other than Form 1 and have missed the Open Day, you can contact our Admissions Office at any time and we will arrange an appointment for a tour of the school. Mid-stream applicants must also be interviewed by the headmaster or deputy head.
We welcome visits from prospective international students and agents all year round, and we are open during most school holidays.
If possible, however, it is better to visit the school in full session as you can meet with other students and staff, observe classes and view some sports activities.
Please do not hesitate to contact the Admissions Office with any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org or +353 1 6436564.
