Meatless Mondays

Thu 2nd Nov 2017

Student Council Initiative

KH is aiming to be the first secondary school in Ireland to join the global campaign Meatless Monday. Meatless Monday is a public commitment that the school, students, staff and broader community are committed to student health and promoting healthy eating. By reducing the amount of food we eat, we reduce our environmental impact on the world as well as improving our own health.

The Student Council looks forward to our first Meatless Monday after midterm and would like to express our gratitude to the catering staff who are deeply committed to making this movement a success. We will begin after midterm by promoting the vegetarian options while the school community grows accustomed to making the new healthy choices, and we will move to a fully Meatless Monday after Christmas!
