Hillwalking

Hillwalking is an important extracurricular activity in the school which has only really established itself in the last few years, thanks to the enthusiasm of interested members of staff.

Interest in this most worthwhile of pastimes has grown steadily, with Sunday excursions organised on a regular basis. Furthermore, we have overnight weekend treks as well as longer trips during the school holidays to sites both around Ireland and overseas. Recent destinations have included Donegal, Scotland and a group of students completed the 'Four Peaks' challenge.

Contact sports@thekingshospital.ie to sign up for trips.

Typical trips:

  • Hike in the Wicklow Mountains, staying overnight - leave school Saturday, 4pm, return Sunday, 5pm
  • Day Hike to Wicklow Mountains  - leaves school Sunday, 9am
