Basketball is played by both boys and girls in the first two terms. For Girls Basketball is one of the major sports played during that time. Basketball is a relatively new sport in the school, but in that short time, teams have been very successful. Last year, there were a total of seven teams entered in the Leinster Schools' Leagues, and a total of 53 matches played over the two terms.

The Sports Hall is an excellent facility for the playing of the sport and with specialised coaching available, the future is bright for the sport of Basketball in the school.

In Boys Basketball, the school fields a Senior and U-16 team, but does not have teams for Forms 1 and 2 boys. At Senior level, the school has been elevated to the Leinster Schools' A League recently, due to the successes of previous seasons, and the U-16 team competes in the Leinster Schools' B League.

In Girls Basketball, the Senior team competes in the Leinster Schools' C Division, and the U-16 team (Cadettes) reached the League Final in 2006-2007, and qualified for the All-Ireland play-offs. Teams are also fielded for Form 1 and 2 girls, and they compete in the Leinster Schools' League as well.
